StoneRidge is a master-planned golf community spread across roughly 2,000 acres in the foothills of the Bradshaw Mountains, on the east side of Prescott Valley. With more than 1,100 homes built around an 18-hole course that opened in 2001, it is one of the area's signature communities. The homes are relatively new, but newer construction has its own plumbing needs, and we serve them all.

Inside the StoneRidge community

StoneRidge blends golf, views, and resort-style amenities. The Randy Heckenkemper course runs through the community, and the Town actually irrigates it with reclaimed water, a smart use of resources in a high-desert town. Residents enjoy pools, a hot tub, tennis and pickleball courts, and community centers, with the Bradshaw Mountains as a backdrop.

The community is built in phases, with a range of home types: single-family homes, patio homes, townhomes, and custom builds, some backing right onto the fairways. Several sub-neighborhoods sit under a master HOA. That variety means a range of plumbing setups, from compact townhome systems to larger custom-home layouts.

What StoneRidge homes need from a plumber

Newer homes mostly run PEX, which resists corrosion and handles freezing well. So the calls here lean less toward repipes and more toward the rest of the picture. Water heaters still age and fail. Moderately hard Town water still scales fixtures and tanks, so softeners are popular. And slab leaks still happen, because decomposed-granite soil shifts under any slab, new or old.

Homes backing onto the course may have irrigation and backflow considerations too. We handle the full range these homes bring, from the everyday repair to the bigger surprise. A newer home is not a maintenance-free home, just a different one.

Pools, spas, and outdoor plumbing at StoneRidge

StoneRidge leans resort-style, so it has more pools, spas, and hot tubs than most of Prescott Valley. That makes pool and spa leak detection a more common call here than in a typical neighborhood. A hot tub that needs topping off every few days is leaking, not evaporating, and we dye-test and pressure-check to find it.

Outdoor living is a big part of the appeal too, with built-in BBQs, outdoor kitchens, and covered patios common in these resort-style homes. Those bring gas lines and outdoor faucets that need safe connection and winter protection. At 5,100 feet, even a golf-community home needs its hose bibs and exposed lines winterized before the first hard freeze. The resort setting does not change the weather.

Frequently asked questions

IMAGE: The StoneRidge community
Do you serve the StoneRidge community?

Yes. StoneRidge sits on the east side of Prescott Valley, a short drive from our base, and we serve its homes across all phases and sub-neighborhoods, from townhomes and patio homes to single-family and custom builds backing onto the course.

My StoneRidge home is fairly new. Do I still need a plumber?

Yes, eventually. Newer homes run PEX and have fewer pipe failures, but water heaters still age, hard water still scales fixtures, and slab leaks still happen on shifting granite soil. Newer construction changes the mix of work, it does not eliminate it.

Should I install a water softener in StoneRidge?

Many StoneRidge homeowners do. The Town's moderately hard water scales fixtures and water heaters over time. A softener protects appliances and reduces spotting. We test your water and size a system to your home, whether it is a townhome or a larger custom build.

Do you detect pool and spa leaks in StoneRidge?

Yes. StoneRidge has more pools, spas, and hot tubs than most of Prescott Valley, given its resort-style amenities. We dye-test and pressure-check to find leaks in the shell, fittings, or equipment, and repair what we find.

Can a newer home really get a slab leak?

Yes. Decomposed-granite soil shifts with moisture and temperature, and that movement stresses pipe under any slab, new or old. StoneRidge homes are not immune. We pinpoint slab leaks with acoustic and electronic detection and repair them with minimal floor disruption.

Can you come out for an emergency in StoneRidge?

Yes, 24/7. For a burst pipe, a failed water heater, or a discovered leak, we answer any hour. StoneRidge is close to our base, so a plumber can reach your home quickly when something goes wrong.

Do you run gas lines for outdoor kitchens at StoneRidge?

Yes. Built-in BBQs and outdoor kitchens are common in StoneRidge homes, and they need a safe, properly sized, pressure-tested gas line. We run and connect them to code, and we can add or service the outdoor faucets and connections that come with an outdoor living space.
